“Ok I’m gonna tell you something, but don’t judge me”

How often have we heard the phrase above? I personally have heard it numerous times. I understand the sentiment, the fear of being labeled negatively. I have decided to  change my perception of the word, because many of us don’t realize that our perception is very different from the actual definition. We have turned “judgement” into “harsh criticism,” when really all it means is “form an opinion or conclusion about”.

Well… I want to hear every single one of your opinions and conclusions about what I have to say. More importantly, I want to be the type of person that knows how to take your opinions and conclusions with me in order to make me a more mindful human being, in order to grow my personal spectrum of thought.

Opinions and ideas are underrated; all of us hold so much brilliance within us. Our thoughts are an individual, unique color in this spectrum that is life. We reject colors that don’t inspire something bright within us instead of looking at the color in a different light, instead of questioning why this color came to be. I plan to embrace the spectrum of color everyday, to welcome those colorful opinions that help me paint a prettier canvas.

So as I embark on this journey of personal perspective please tell me how you feel; give me some insight into your personal spectrum. There is more to learn from colors exotic and different from your own than there is from those slightly paler or brighter than those you carry.
